[opens his mouth to say that, it's not a joke--but he decides to leave it at that]
Yes, hopefully he will. Well! I'll, erm, leave you to whatever you were doing just now. Thanks for the chocolate strawberry thing.
[he gives Big'un a little smile before heading out of the shop.
as for the letter itself, the envelope reads: "To Shay, with sincerest apologies" and on in the inside, in addition to the dye pack, is the note wrapped in plastic as the Doctor had said, and also a crumpled fiver (he borrowed it from Harriet). if Shay gets that far, the note will read:
"Shay--
Again, sorry about the dye. Really, truly sorry. I had to make sure this note would reach you and no one else, and the dye pack was a way to ensure it. Good news though! That's a special dye that washes easily out of clothing. Skin, on the other hand...well, that's where the fiver comes in. I recommend a bicarbonate and lemon juice mixture applied with a pumice stone three times a day and scrub vigorously. At best, it'll come out in four-five days tops.
Anyway! The real reason for this note. I have a very good friend who has to fight in these death matches--possibly several others, I'm not entirely certain who has to fight--and by the time you get this, it may be too late to save him. If there is a way to stop the rest of the matches from happening, please. I need to know. I only know that stopping the hourglass from running out will keep a match going, but what else can I do? Can you help in any way to stop the fights from continuing?
-the Doctor
PS: If I mention a man named Weber who seemed unable to stop the fights himself, will that help convince you in any way?" ]
