[He chuckles, low and quiet.]

But Ai. They're all true. But let me see, who who who can I talk about. Perhaps Jerry and Elias? Oh yes, they do have a lovely tale, but I'm not sure it's one for this time... Jacob? No...

I know.

[He closes his eyes for a second before going back to focusing on Ai, almost unblinking.]

There was, at one point, a time when the universe didn't exist. There wasn't darkness, there wasn't light, there wasn't even nothing; there was an absence of nothing and an absence of something. A true empty void. Yet... not so. Within that void it lurked: a beast of ages; a monster of dreams; an unholy terror that wove itself into the fabric of nonexistence. And there it waited, removed, it's demeanor souring and spoiling from the lack of all things.

Then there was. In one great blink, the universe. A second. A third, fourth, fifth, two dozen, five thousand, infinite, all in one brief moment things came into being and it... was no longer alone. And it grew; it spread to the dark corners of the universe, of galaxies, of worlds. That beast of ages, monster of dreams, it had never seen existence - it had never seen at all! It didn't have eyes until now, it didn't have claws, nor perfect white teeth in rows and rows.

With time, it slunk to what would one day be called Earth, and there it made its nest. Its home. It curled up in the dark and fed on nothing, drank nothing, and it waited. Something would be coming for it; a great and terrible purpose, and it could not wait for that grand bloody day.
